Research Associate and Lab Manager Miles Flamme-Wiese was honored in the 2020 Vector Laboratories Photo Contest when his submission was selected as one of ten contest winners. Winners were awarded with a canvas print of their photo and recognized on the Vector Laboratories website (https://vectorlabs.com/galleries/photo-contest-winners-2020). The honored photo is a confocal projection of a whole mount of the human choroid, the vascular layer of the eye responsible for nourishing the photoreceptor cells that are necessary for vision, with Ulex europaeus agglutinin I in red labeling the vascular elements, anti-IBA-1 in blue recognizing macrophages, and anti-CD45 in green recognizing all classes of white cells.
